What the site does not do

It is a static site, so pages are simply delivered as files, with nothing behind them that would remember you. In practical terms:

• No accounts. You cannot sign up here, so we hold no logins.
• No comments. There is nowhere to post anything.
• No analytics. We do not run visitor measurement tools.
• No ad trackers. We do not carry advertising trackers.

We have no list of readers, and we would not know what to do with one.

What the host logs

Our hosting provider logs technical data when pages are requested, as hosts generally do. That is the ordinary record a web server keeps in order to deliver pages and deal with faults. We do not use these logs to build a picture of individual visitors, and we are not in a position to tell you much more about any one request than that it happened.

The one thing stored on your device

The site has an exit panel, the small message that may appear when you go to leave. To avoid showing it to you over and over, it stores one value in your browser's local storage. That value stays on your device, and it does not identify you. You can remove it by clearing this site's stored data in your browser, at which point the panel will simply forget that it has met you.

Referral links

Some links that lead to Candy are referral links, and these pass a code to the destination so that the visit can be credited to this site. Once you have left, you are on Candy, under Candy's own rules. What Candy records from then on is for its own privacy terms, not ours, and we have no view of it. We never see what you do there, what you say in a chat, or what you buy. The about page has more on how those links fund the site.
